My name is Nishan, and I have been involved with
the BIT programme ever since the inception in the year 2000. I used
to teach subjects in all 6 semesters, and am also actively engaged
in Project Supervision for semester 5 and 6 students. I provide
guidance in selecting challenging projects, carrying out Analysis
and identifying user requirements, preparing the interim report
and specifications, systems development guidance, tips on preparation
of the final dissertation, and etc.
Students are encouraged to meet with me on a regular
basis so that project details can be discussed, and problems ironed
out.
One of the main reasons for my involvement in this
area is the practical knowledge and experience that have been gained
as a result of developing and managing software on behalf of corporate
and individual clients. My clients include local and overseas customers.
Academically, the qualifications that I have acquired are:

Please note that effective from the 20th of December 2005, I am no
longer involved with IDM in any way, be it Lecturing / Conducting
classes, or otherwise.
As of 2006, I have been with ESOFT
Computer Studies (Pvt) Ltd and am the General Manager as well
as a Senior Lecturer. I conduct classes for BIT (University of Colombo
School of Computing), BCS (UK), BIT (University of Moratuwa), as well
as specialised classes in PHP.
